Originally composed by Chinese Jesuit missionary Fr. Li Tuo and published in China in 1857, this devotional guide for the Month of Mary was soon translated into Korean by Fr. Robert (Kim Borok).
First printed in Korea in 1887 at the Seoul Bible Press, the work was reprinted several times; this edition was issued in 1899. It contains daily meditations and prayers honoring the Virgin Mary and is a key document for understanding Catholic devotional life and the transmission of faith in late 19th-century Korea. It also exemplifies the high quality of early Hangul movable-type Catholic printing.

성모 마리아에 대한 신앙 실천과 묵상의 형태를 보여주는 중요한 문헌으로, 당시 한글 연활자 인쇄의 수준과 한국 천주교 신앙생활의 일면을 보여주는 귀중한 자료이다.
